You never know what God is up to.
Many of you have been following our foster care and adoption journey since it began almost two years ago.
We've been learning more and more about walking in the Spirit and listening to His guidance in our lives. When God says "no," so do we. When God says "yes," we strive to obey. Last week, God said "yes" to moving two young brothers into our home. They need love, training, care, and healing. We ask for your prayers as we make this transition.
If you're doing the math, this brings our current boy count up to 9. Thinking of this makes me cry every time because God's plans are so shocking, beautiful, and perfect. Oh, how I love raising sons!!
Yes, this is hard. But when God says "yes," He also says, "I will give you everything you need. Strength, energy, love, joy, peace, patience, rest, refreshment - everything. He is faithful. So it isn't just hard. It's also incredibly amazing and beautiful! This is how we learn who Jesus truly is.
Thank you all for walking this journey with us. God gave us you, too. You are a gift to us.
We've been doing little else during the past six days beyond settling new ones into our home, finding them the clothes they need (they came with nothing), helping them feel safe, and walking with them through some incredibly tragic events. Hopefully I'll be able to share more as I'm able to continue to write my Foster Care and Adoption Journal. Please pray for our new ones. They need healing that only Jesus can offer. Matt and I need wisdom that only comes from the One who knows all.

So apparently there's like a corona virus going around or something?
Our world stopped Wednesday night when our new ones moved in. The entire situation that our new boys are enduring make me feel actual pain while so many are suddenly focused on toilet paper and hand soap. I'm going to kindly suggest that we all move on (hopefully you already have) to focus our thoughts on what truly matters. Love God. Love your neighbor. This is all that matters. The rest will take care of itself.
(And sure, as we do at all times, we can strive to stay healthy. Care for the sick. Pray for those who have been effected by virus'. Wait. Effected or Affected? I think it's effect?? This also doesn't matter. )
Today all of our "Littles" are at a friend's house so I can get caught up on some work. The "Middles" (as we are now calling our new ones, ages 13 and 14 but less mature than most at that age) are at school. And our "Bigs" (our bio boys still at home) are finishing their school work for the day. Praise God for these times of quiet refreshment!
