I'm all for letting kids be creative - even if that means that there are big messes. (Just DO NOT invite the glitter to the creative party. Anything but glitter. NO GLITTER. And that's how strongly Laura is opposed to glitter.)
Lately Brayden has been cutting paper. He's making "stuff," though none of it is recognizable and mostly it just looks like paper trash all over the floor and table. But he knows what he's making and he's having fun and he's learning to use scissors. So I let him cut paper all day long. He loves it.
