Babies, Wagons, Tears, and Pita Bread?

I think I've been tired for over a month now (make that a year and a half) but wow did it hit me hard recently. God is in this journey, but that doesn't mean that it isn't hard.

Looking at their sweet pictures fills me with joy. I thought it might fill you too, at least as much as I can show you. :)

Laura, are your hands full?

Why yes. My hands are full. That's why I invested in this wagon. Best purchase ever. Well, except for my purchase of the biggest baby gate on the planet. That was also a great purchase.

But the wagon. It folds up to easily fit in the back of our van. It has seat belts for the babes, plus I can use it to cart around all the millions of snacks and diapers we need while we're out. Ever tried lugging lots of littles to collegiate soccer games? I don't recommend it if you don't have sweet college girls on the other side of the gate waiting to grab babies and help. How blessed I am to have so many on my team with this, especially during Matt's busiest season of the year.

I cracked up that the following picture was already "edited" so I could show it to you without putting heart stickers over their sweet faces.

When they are awake, it is GO TIME. They're crawling everywhere, usually in opposite directions. One of them has taken his first steps and I'm not sure any baby has ever had so many applauding for him. As it turns out, baby cuteness turns teenage boys into sappy cheerleaders. Be still my very full and tired heart.

God is Good.

I realized over the weekend that I have been hesitating to share how hard this journey is, simply because I want to be sure people know how good God is through it. We have said "yes" to all of this because God has said "yes." How can I share how hard it is when I'd rather tell you how great God is and how He called us to this!! How He provides, how He loves, how He is beautifully and perfectly faithful.

But then the pressure and reality of it all spilled over and I'm not sure I've stopped crying since last Friday.

GOD IS GOOD. But this journey is also very hard. I love it and I struggle with it. I'm weary and I'm strengthened by God. Never have I learned so much about who God is than while walking this journey with Him with both joy and difficulty.

Food is good too.

Though nothing strengthens like God, I sure am learning the importance of nourishing myself like never before. I get depleted quickly if I'm not eating well. People keep asking me, "Laura, are you taking care of yourself?"

I'm trying! Hey, does keeping up with a busy 5-year old and carrying a baby on each hip while lugging around all their stuff count as exercise? Oh yes it does.

Right now I'm focusing on how to buy and eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible. I snack on mixed greens because I'm a weirdo who's slightly desperate to stay healthy right now.

I'm eating stuff like this too.

I don't have time to make these right now...
