Trust me, I know what burn out feels like. I understand all the feelings of not wanting to start a new school year and dreading all things geometry and grammar. So if that's where you are, I'm praying for you and you are normal.
I've been educating kids for 24 years (because I taught public school before we had kids). Many an August has rolled around and I have NOT BEEN READY, nor was I excited about a new school year.
But God is good to provide all we need to fulfill His call for us. He is faithful in filling us with joy when we aren't sure where to find it. And He WILL meet all of our needs for this new school year!
I've raised them, graduated them, cried with them over equations that left us both angry over "stupid math we'll never use in the real world," adapted with them, prayed with them, and now I'm starting all over again. If God wasn't in this, I couldn't do it.
But He absolutely is, and because of this, I am willing and excited to pull out the "Teach Your Child to Read..." book again. (Though it took several months of prayer and surrender to get here. Phew. Dying to self. It's so fun and easy. Heh.)
Wherever you are on your journey, whatever your feelings, whatever your fears - GOD IS BIGGER. Ask Him to fill you with everything you need to overcome anything that threatens to defeat you. He is faithful and He will provide.
Be encouraged this August! It's a time for new beginnings and if you look, you will find Jesus here.
Starting over,
