Fine. I Gave In.

I couldn't resist.

Last week, I spent time looking through all the books in this year's Build Your Bundle sale. I put just over $100 in my cart (explanation here), then paid only $25 for all of it! Huge score!

I got just what I needed to supplement our curriculum for next year's school for my kids. I put it all into a folder to print as needed. And then...

I tried to stay away. I really did. But I couldn't stop thinking about this one. I have read email reports telling me that it is the most popular package out of all of those offered.

Why, I wondered? No one knows what's in it, so how can any of us be sure we could actually use it? But it is $130 worth of books for just $9.95, so maybe many felt it was worth taking the chance? It made sense. But, but...

The sale ends tomorrow, so I decided this morning that if I was going to do it, I needed to do it quickly. While the specifics of the Mystery Bundle remained a mystery, I was glad I could at least read that it contained this:

History resources
Geography resources
Themed unit studies
Language arts resources
Writing resources
Homemaking resource

This bundle is geared more for elementary students with some resources suitable for early learners as well. There are no upper grades materials in this bundle.

I decided to go for it. I figured for $10, I would at least get ONE book that worked for us, and that would make it worth it, right? Right.

Eeeeeee. The package hit my inbox right after I purchased, and I will tell you that I downloaded 12 out of the 13 books included. TWELVE!

So how do I feel about my mysterious purchase? Pretty awesome. It was well worth my $10 as we will for sure get our money's worth out of this, and then some.

As the sale comes to an end, here's what I recommend:

Take the safer route and get the packages of which you can for sure see the contents (Click here, then look for the button that says "Curated Bundles Save 80%-90%!"). and/or...
Do what I originally did, which was to look through each book listing individually, fill the cart with everything that suits our needs, then watch the price drop to $25 once the cart total hits a minimum of $100. Every since preschool ended last week, Bonus Boy has been asking if we can please start Kindergarten. I'm eager too, but I've been hesitant because I don't want to burn him out before school actually starts next fall.

But then I realized - I have all these awesome resources ready to print and use. Why wouldn't I create a fun Summer School Folder for us to pull out as needed during the next few weeks?! That way he doesn't lose all the great counting and pre-reading skills that are currently fresh in his mind. And we can enjoy some quiet one-on-one time that is much needed for this little boy.
