People sometimes feel sorry for me. "Only boys?!" they say with pity when they see that my house is full of children of only the male variety. Four biological boys, one soon-to-be-adopted Bonus Boy, and now a 2-month old foster Boy Babe.
But allow me to let you in on a little-known truth about having a house full of teen boys and babies. These are both teenage girl magnets. Therefore, within a household like mine, you can be sure of this - I have many wonderful girls in my life!!
Just last night, there was a certain girl at our house enjoying the company of one of our teenage sons. And sure enough, she found herself holding Boy Babe and having the time of her life doing so. Meanwhile, I had free hands so...
I WASHED MANY DISHES.
It was a win-win.
I am marveling at my life right now. Sure, I'm tired. But there's something quite marvelous happening through God's work in our home. I stand in awe. (And take naps when I can.)
No matter what is going on in your life right now, look for God's hand in it. These are His plans, not ours. This is His work, not ours. We are simple servants; He is master and chief. We are called only to do what He tells us to do - meanwhile He changes hearts and performs healing miracles on all who are broken and open to all He has to offer.
Seek Him. Listen to Him. Trust Him.
