My Wedding Ring Drama

Somewhere in between taking in a 4 month old baby, getting her settled into her new adoptive home, taking in a 4-year old foster son, and running to a lot of (cold) soccer games...

I realized the diamond in my wedding ring had gone missing. Boo.

I figure it's sparkling in the grass on a soccer field somewhere in Nebraska, never to be seen again. My finger has been naked for three weeks while I had my ring in the shop to be repaired and its diamond replaced.

I'm grateful to share that as of 10:12 am today, I am married again.

God is faithful in helping a person grow and learn perspective. I cried a couple of tears over losing my little diamond from the ring that is so dear to me. But I also quickly realized the truth that there are real hurts in the world and a broken ring is not as important as broken hearts.

My diamond could be replaced, my marriage is stronger than prongs on a wedding band, and God is healer of all.

Simplify to Serve

God amazes me. I had no idea a few months ago all the precious people in our community He would put in our lives to love and serve. Right at the time He started teaching me more about seeing the needs of others, He also put on my heart to learn how to Simplify my Kitchen and Homemaking life. How beautiful that the two go together so well.

HOWEVER, life at home still has to function. We all still need to eat and we want to eat well. But it doesn't have to be complicated, and in fact, it shouldn't be. Our Kingdom purpose is more important than a gourmet meal.
