Confession: Today I'm fighting off being GRUMPY.
Our house is old, big, and drafty. It holds a lot of charm, but keeping it warm is almost impossible during these days of "should reach a high of 3 with a windchill of negative 20." Honestly, writing my confession to you helps me reach a place of humility where I can surrender better and recognize truth that I have so much to be grateful
for.
Today I find myself needing to pray constantly (how very 1 Thess. 5:17 of me).
- I'm praying that the lies of the enemy will flee and that contentment and peace will reign.
- I'm praying for my kids as today is a BIG day with the college semester starting up again. (Our oldest is a college junior, so he's got a full
load. Our second son is a high school senior and taking two college classes. Our third son is a high school sophomore and taking his first college class ever. He's also getting his driver's license this week as he turns the big 16. Big stuff.)
- I'm praying
for my husband. Mostly because his wife is grumpy. Also because I love watching God work in his life and seeing His work in our marriage.
- I'm praying for many of our friends in town who are new to Christianity or opposed to it entirely. I'm praying God's power to be fully at work in them and for our family to be open to the role God has for us in their lives.
God reminded me this morning that no matter
what, my job is to trust Him. That's it. He sees us, knows our needs, love my family more than I do, and wants good for us all. Trust Him. That is my job.
So I'll make another cup of hot tea and keep talking to Him, listening to Him, surrendering to Him. How about you? What are you praying for today?
