It is
almost always the little extra jobs that will take just a few minutes that seem to overwhelm and get pushed to the back burner day after day. Take, for example, the weeks I put off stitching up a hole in one of my kid's coat seams. I ignored and scowled at it until the weather became too cold to ignore. When I finally threaded a needle and sewed the hole, I was done in ten minutes. WHY?? Why did I put that off? But at least I felt like I accomplished something amazing
afterward.
So it is with what I accomplished this morning. Friends, my kids and I got around to actually performing a Biology Experiment. Be very proud. Be very impressed. We put a potato slice in a jar of salt water in an effort to study osmosis and diffusion. We are rocking our homeschool today.
It is because of all these small details in life that hang over us, hover on the to-do list, and fill our very busy days that we must keep our meals and snacks as simple as possible. Who's with me on wanting to eat well while spending very little time in the kitchen every day?
This great ECookbook sale ends at midnight tonight. (96% off 100+ books!!!!!)
I'm loving all the new recipe ideas. I'm excited for the time these recipes are going to save me. It's recipes like these that allow me to spend more time with my family and yep, actually get a Biology Experiment done without stress!
This afternoon when we open our jars from the first phase of our morning experiment, my children shall learn that the cells in
a potato are surrounded by a semipermiable membrane. Hooray for a productive school day! Three cheers for the fact that I can focus on my family while our simple dinner cooks in my crock pot (a fun new recipe!).
Happy Friday!

P.S. If your to-do list is big, just a reminder not to put off grabbing these books right now because at midnight tonight, the offer dissolves like the salt in the water of our Biology Experiment. (I can't help it. I'm in science mode right now.)
