Cup Overflowing? Or Running On Empty?

Published: Thu, 06/15/17

Good evening, Friends!

Ever feel like you're running on empty? Phew the days are hard sometimes.

I'm here to share some truth, red letter edition. When Jesus speaks, we should sit up straight and listen.

"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."

That's from John 7:37-38 and Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit! We won't find fulfillment in ourselves and we don't have try to run on empty. We simply need to seek him, believe in him, and let him fill us to overflowing!

This is truth. Truth wins.

Be encouraged today by these words from Jesus. Our cups overflow because of our Savior. He fills us with everything we need. We can absolutely trust him.

If you already started going through your copy of The Prayer Mugs, hopefully you've already begun the journey of giving over your worries and fears to the Father. This is something I have to do daily, and scripture like the one above reminds me that I never have to trust in my own strength. When I look to him, he fills me to overflowing with living water. Amen and hallelujah!!
Question of the week:

"Laura, where can we get cool mugs to go with this book?"

Aha! Good question. The answer is that any mugs will work - any cup that carries a special link to your child(ren).

But if you want to copy the idea of having a different colored mug assigned to each of your kids, here are some suggestions for you. (And by the way, my cabinet holds a mug that represents my marriage, one that represents a family friend, one that represents a girl from church that I pray for...I super love prayer mugs!)

Sky's the limit. But I will say that there's something very special about having a different mug to represent each child or person you are praying for. If it wasn't completely impractical, I'd buy a mug for every prayer need, simply because I love the concept so much!
May your cup be filled to overflowing!
