Deliver me from Chutes and Ladders (Mom Confessions)

Published: Mon, 04/10/17

We love games. We are a game-loving family. From the time our kids were little, we've spent hours playing games.

Of course we started with Candy Land and Hi-Ho Cherry-O and have made our way to Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride with a whole lot of Uno Attack and Skip-Bo in between. Of all the games we've played and loved, I will confess this to you:

If I never have to play Chutes and Ladders again, my life will be richer, better, and I can keep all of my teeth because I will not desire to pull them out while playing this horrible game that never, ever ends.

Well, now you know how I really feel. If I ever come across a deal on Chutes and Ladders, you can be sure that I will NOT tell you about it because friends don't let their friends play Chutes and Ladders. (My apologies to all four of you who do like this game. We can still be friends.)

But Hi Ho Cherry-O? That is a good game. That one is sweet and simple and you can play in 10-15 minutes and everyone stays (mostly) happy.
It happens to be on sale big time at Amazon, today only, along with other fun last minute "fill the Easter basket" items like this Nerf Rival Atlas Blaster (50% off) and this great Play-Doh Set (35% off).

You can see all of today's last minute specials here, though I recommend you think beyond Easter into spring/summer birthdays and activities you have in the works.

If you'd like to see a list of all our family's favorite games (it's a long list!), check it out here. I'd love to hear what your favorites are!

While I've got you - if you'd like an idea for dinner tonight that won't take any time to make, here's the latest Simple Recipe I've shared: Simple Crock Pot Pizza Casserole. SO EASY!
Hope your Monday is off to a great start! Tell me your favorite games to play as a family...I'm always open to hearing about new games!
