Is it too soon to think of Father's Day?

Published: Wed, 03/29/17

So what that it's only March? These cloudy Nebraska days have me dreaming of sunshiny summer weather.

One of these days I will be warm without wearing four layers and piling on the blankets. Then I'll lay out in my hammock and read while I sip iced coffee...

Now, to be clear, what I mean when I say say "...lay out in my hammock and read..." I really mean "open the windows in the house while we re-paint the upstairs bedrooms and scrub the bathtub and..." because that's what real life is made of.

But who says rest isn't also a good thing to schedule in?

So I've decided. It IS too soon to think of Father's Day. BECAUSE MOTHER'S DAY COMES FIRST.

Come to think of it (hammocks; I'm thinking of hammocks), it's possible that both of us want a hammock so we'll order two - a Mom and a Pop set. Then we can lay out in our hammocks together (while the kids paint the house on our behalf because we adults are too busy enjoying Mango Iced Tea in the sunshine in our new hammocks).

I share all these sunny-summertime thoughts to say: These hammocks are a really good price today. You should get a few. Everyone needs these. (They come in a variety of color options too!)

And also, you'll want this Mango Iced Tea recipe, because iced tea and hammocks definitely go together.
With that, I'll head into the kitchen to warm up hot soup and hot drinks. I may be dreaming of summer, but here in Nebraska, it really is still cold and drizzly.

On today's menu: Potato Soup

Are you "hammocking" where you live today or "souping?"

Staying warm,
