Wow.
Right about the time we had finished our Bible reading and breakfast this morning and I was sending our boys off to brush teeth and begin their school work - that's when the questions started.
I don't even know how it happened. I'm not sure the first question that
was asked. But before I knew it I was talking to my 16, 14, and 11 year old sons about some pretty sensitive subjects. They already know "the facts." But today they asked about more of the details they didn't understand. I was happy to share, of course. But I'm also kinda glad to be sitting here now "recovering" with a cup of tea, reaching out to you for a little breather and moral support.
Phew. This parenting gig. A mom's gotta be on her toes and more than a little bit courageous. Some days are particularly wearing. Some moments are a little more breath-taking than others.
Mostly today I wanted to reach out and give you all a high-five and see how you're doing. I wanted to tell you that I'm
thankful you are a part of my community. I always learn a lot from you, and I'm thankful to have you on my team as I go about this wife, mom, homemaker gig.
This week is going to be a good one. I'm going to be listening in to the free online Mom Conference which begins tomorrow (Oct. 11) and runs through Thursday. Teach me and encourage me, oh experienced mothers!
You can most certainly join too! It's completely FREE during the next three days. Here's what the speakers are covering:
- Manage your children’s emotions (and your own!)
- Figure out how to avoid the “me, me, me epidemic” that is producing over-entitled children
- Get your house clean – and keep it that way (for real)
- Strengthen
your marriage
- Talk to your children about sex (more than once, as my experience tells me)
- Help your children embrace healthy foods while teaching them to cook
- Manage your children’s screen time and smart phone use (without making them hate you)
- Develop a budget that really works for your family (yes, it’s
possible!)
- Live a more intentional and joyful life (and teach your children to do the same)
- And much more!
Here's to a great week!
