Here's one of my sweetest laundry helpers today. :)
Well anyway. I had some very specific ideas about what I needed in a homemaking helper. God actually told me who to ask but then I was like, "Are you sure that will work for her life and schedule, God?" (Why do I question God or try to predict what someone else's schedule can handle? Who do I think I am?) Thankfully, God ignored my silliness and nudged the person He told me to ask. And then that very friend came up to me and offered to do EXACTLY WHAT I'D BEEN PRAYING FOR. I
mean, I had been like "hey God I need someone to do XYZPDQ" and my friend was like "hey Laura can I do XYZPDQ for you?"
So that in and of itself was amazing, but do you know what is also amazing?! MY KITCHEN. My friend comes for one hour every weekday. For 60 entire minutes she works on my dishes and my floor and my countertops and I feel like I can breathe again.
Also? God nudged me over to the appliance store last week to buy a dishwasher that ACTUALLY WORKS. Ours had long ago stopped actually washing our dishes, which added so much extra work into my day. So now, not only do I have a friend who helps keep me afloat each day, I have a dishwasher that welcomes disgusting, crusty plates and turns out beautiful sparkling tableware.
It's been lifechanging - all three days so far. :) :) Just wanted to share what God has done this week. There's been tragedy in our community, sadness, and hardship. And right in the midst God said, "I've been listening and here's how I will provide for some of your basic needs..."
