Here's the short story: Mama is tired. Just like all mamas can be, of course. December was a month full of extreme Christmas fun but also full of court dates for kids, appointments for kids, extra meetings on zoom for kids, extra case worker visits for kids, and oh yes, all that goes along with taking actual care of the actual kids (five under the age of seven, plus continuing to love on and guide our older guys). Did I mention we have three family members with birthdays in
December?
I am an introvert that is hardly ever alone and while I love all my people so much, I found myself in tears way more than a happy mama should be in tears. So I told Matt that we needed to somehow move a mountain or two so that I could find a way to get away and refresh. He made it happen and here I am. No where. With no one.
Today, no where with no one is a very good place to be. All the babes are in good hands and I am sitting with my laptop writing actual words. This is so fulfilling to me and helps me remember who I am outside of mom, wife, and homemaker.
Hey fellow tired mama? Ask God to show you how to find much needed refreshment. He knows what you need and He will provide.
As for me, Matt and I are praying for ways I can have some time off more regularly. Ironically, I love using my time off to work, ha. Writing for you is so refreshing for me!
Well, enough about that. Let me quickly tell you about the cool thing my awesome Heavenly Homemakers assistant helped make happen for us right now!
