Family Updates!

I started this email over a week ago. :)

I'd say that I can't get anything done around here, but it's good to recognize the truth that a LOT is getting done. It just looks like dirty diapers and meetings and appointments and court dates and baby snuggles instead of well...pretty much anything else. (Crusty kitchen floor, anyone?)

We've had so much joy during the past 5 weeks since our newborn moved in with us. But there's been a lot of challenge and tears too. Please be in prayer as there are so many unknowns for our foster babes. Our littlest has some extra medical needs, though mostly she is thriving and growing on target.

Perhaps the biggest news I'll take time to share right now is this: We made the difficult but right decision to put Brayden in public school. He's been with us for 2.5 years now and wow has he come a long way!! At the same time, many of his needs and learning challenges are becoming more apparent now that he's almost seven.

God made it clear that we needed to take advantage of the resources available for him at our wonderful school here in town, but shoot. I ignored God's messages for a while. I've always been a homeschool mom, after all. I could do this! I could meet Brayden's needs! I could!

No. I can't. Not right now. Not without help.

And that's ok. We listened to God's clear direction, and our little guy is now in great hands with extra educational resources and professionals that can help him with all that we cannot right now. Praise God for His provision, even when it looks different from what we thought it would be.

It goes without saying that we are all in love with Baby Sister. The toddlers are so enamored with her (but can't figure out why she isn't interested yet in catching a ball or wrestling with a brother). Matt captured this moment with Keith giving her love as she woke up one morning:

Thank you for your love, your patience, and most of all your prayers. We are learning more and more how much we must let God be God in all things. We are focusing on Ephesians 6: Stand firm. Stand up. Take a stand. And after you've done everything: STAND.
