I don't love giving my kids much sugar. But we've found that we need to have some treats available for motivation or privilege loss (as in, "if you aren't sweet, you don't get sweets"). I've also found that sometimes it's nice to have cookies or cake to help fill the kids' bellies a little bit more after dinner so that everyone is calmer at
bedtime.
All of these treats are low in sugar and my kids love them anyway. They don't need high sugar content. They just love that they are getting a treat!
