What kids don't?! But three of ours love it more than is typical for our family, simply because packaged foods, sugary cereal, and candy are what they were used to eating before they moved in with us.
Â
I've learned to chill out about this to some extent. We fight lots of battles and yanking everything from our kids' past isn't healthy or wise on our part. When they see a favorite candy at the store and they say, "Oh! I used to eat that with (Bio Mom!) and we had it once when we were...." <--- That is a cue for me to celebrate a special memory with them, not talk about the dangers of high fructose corn syrup.Â
Â
Anyway. Sugary drinks. We don't have those. But they sure do ask for them anytime they see them at the store.
Â
It just occurred to me that I could very easily
make this Gatorade for them at home, put it into special bottles, and give it to them just about every day if I wanted to. Why not? The ingredients are great! AND, if they help me make it? They'll for sure like it more.Â
Â
Perfect for summer time play, we'll be making Gatorade. Try
this recipe if you haven't already. It's super easy and fun!
