Kids have small stomachs. And while I feel like I feed them a substantial breakfast at 7ish, they seem to need something else by 8:50 and then something else by 10:10 and then something else around 11:30 and something else before naps at 1.
It's a good thing I like all things food. Lately I've been working extra hard to keep the five and under crowd full of nourishing food, experimenting with how often they need to eat in order to stay emotionally regulated. They ate two breakfasts before 10:00, then snacked on granola bites on the way home from the library yesterday. Then they headed straight to the table when we came inside at 11:30 and ate apples,
clementines, peanuts, and crackers that we sprinkled in front of them. (The Coppinger version of charcuterie)
